Privacy and cookies
What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to change your mind. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Who we are
MERA Travel Studio (“MERA”, “we”) runs meratravels.online. For anything on this page, write to hello@meratravels.online.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password.
- Your trip requests and enquiries: where and when you want to travel, how many people, budget, where you are leaving from, your notes, and your contact details.
- Messages: what you write to us in chat or support, and any files you attach. Attachments are kept in private storage that only you and our team can open.
- Reviews you choose to publish.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up in the footer. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email.
- How you found us: the website or campaign link that brought you to MERA, attached to a trip request. See Cookies.
- Visit statistics: pages viewed, device type and country, with no cookies (Cloudflare Web Analytics), and with your permission, Google Analytics.
Why we use it
- To design, quote and run your trip, and to reply to you. This is the service you asked for.
- To send emails about your account and your trips, such as a confirmation that we received your request.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam.
- With your permission only: to measure which pages and campaigns work, and to show MERA ads to people who visited.
We rely on providing the service you asked for, and on our legal and accounting duties, for everything above except analytics and marketing cookies, which we use only with your consent. We do not sell your information.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts the site, its database and files, runs the AI trip planner and assistant (Workers AI), and provides cookie-free visit statistics.
- Brevo sends our emails and keeps our newsletter list, and tells us whether each email was delivered or opened.
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram), only if you allow analytics or marketing cookies. When you send a trip request with marketing cookies allowed, we tell Meta that a request was made, with your email address in scrambled (hashed) form so it can be matched to an ad, never in plain text.
- The hotels, guides and partners who deliver a trip you book, with only what they need to do so.
Some of these companies process data outside Nigeria and outside your own country, for example in the United States and the European Union. They do so under their own data protection terms.
How long we keep it
Your account and trips are kept while your account is open. When you delete your account (Dashboard → Profile), your name and contact details are removed from your trips, enquiries, quotes, bookings and reviews. Support conversations are kept without anything that identifies you, so our records of what was agreed stay complete. Trip requests and enquiries sent without an account are kept for up to 3 years after your last contact with us, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by writing to hello@meratravels.online. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC); elsewhere, the authority where you live.
Cookies
Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of information saved on your device. Essential ones are always on, because the site cannot work without them. Everything else waits until you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time: .
