Why we still love Lamu
Six visits later, the same alleys, the same call to prayer, the same reason.
Shela hasn't changed much. That's the first thing we say to travellers, and the reason we keep sending them there...
It's easy to plan a trip that looks great on paper. It's harder to plan one that stays with you. We spend most of our time working on the second problem: the pacing, the pauses, the small decisions that add up. A room you don't want to leave. A guide who becomes a friend. A market on the way back to the airport that you're glad you stopped at.
MERA travellers tend to arrive quietly and leave changed. That's the trip we're always trying to design.
